Ranking - 2026

Ranking of business credit cards in Belgium

A Belgian business credit card advertises somewhere between EUR 15 and EUR 150 a year. That price says almost nothing: none of these cards comes without the business current account behind it, and that account is billed separately. Eight offers ranked on the full bill, read off the issuers' official pages on 21 August 2026.

Fees checked on 21 August 2026

In brief

  • The KBC Mastercard Business Essential is the cheapest in the panel at EUR 15 a year, but it requires opening a KBC Business PRO account first.
  • Belfius puts no price on the card alone: the only published tariff is the Business Pack Plus, EUR 7.50 a month plus EUR 0.17 VAT.
  • American Express Business Gold charges 2.5% on any non-euro transaction, against 1.5% at Belgian banks: the most expensive line in the ranking if you buy in dollars.
  • Revolut Business, Wise Business and bunq do not issue a credit card but a business account with a debit card, with no deferred payment.
  1. 01

    KBC Mastercard Business Essential

    8.4/10
    Annual feeEUR 15/year
Non-euroATM withdrawal: 1% of the amount, minimum EUR 5
    NetworkMastercard - KBC

Pros : The lowest fee in the panel. Payments at merchants and online transactions are free, five spending limits are available between EUR 2,500 and EUR 10,000, and several cardholders can sit on the same account, each with a monthly expense statement.

Cons : The card does not exist without a KBC Business PRO account, which you must open first and whose cost adds to the EUR 15. A withdrawal costs 1% of the amount with a EUR 5 minimum, 2% at a counter or bureau de change. On 21 August 2026 the product page was showing an error banner above its own fee table.

The cheapest card on the Belgian market if you already bank with KBC, and only then. Set the card's geographic scope before your first trip outside Europe.

  2. 02

BNP Paribas Fortis Mastercard Business Premium

    7.8/10
Annual feeEUR 6.75/quarter (EUR 27/year), included in the Pro packages
Non-euroNot published on the comparison page
    NetworkMastercard - BNP Paribas Fortis

Pros : One card included in the Essential Pro package, two in the Flex Pro package: if you already take a package, the card costs nothing extra. Five insurance policies attached, and your staff can track their card in Easy Banking Business Mobile without banking there.

Cons : Outside a package, EUR 6.75 per quarter per card. The spending limit is fixed at EUR 2,500 a month, a quarter of KBC's upper ceiling. FX fees do not appear on the business credit card comparison page.

The best cover-to-price ratio among the big Belgian banks, provided you price the package rather than the card.

  3. 03

BNP Paribas Fortis Mastercard Business Prestige

    7.3/10
Annual feeEUR 12.75/quarter (EUR 51/year), up to 2 cards in the Flex Pro package
Non-euroNot published on the comparison page
    NetworkMastercard - BNP Paribas Fortis

Pros : Nine insurance policies instead of five, identity theft protection, a company rewards programme and fast airport access. Up to two cards included in the Flex Pro package.

Cons : EUR 51 a year outside a package for the same EUR 2,500 monthly spending limit as the Premium. Travel cover only triggers if the trip was paid for with the card.

It holds up if you fly for work more than three or four times a year. Below that, the Premium does the same job for EUR 24 less.

  4. 04

    Belfius Mastercard Business

    7.1/10
Annual feeVia Business Pack Plus: EUR 7.50/month (+ EUR 0.17 VAT)
Non-euroNot published on the product page
    NetworkMastercard - Belfius

Pros : A second Mastercard, or a Prepaid, free on the same account. Comfort personal assistance included through Europ Assistance, reachable 24/7. And the usual EUR 150 excess for misuse after loss, theft or online fraud is waived, barring gross negligence.

Cons : Belfius publishes no price for the card on its own: the only figure shown, EUR 7.50 a month plus EUR 0.17 VAT, is the full package. There is no way to tell what you pay for the card and what you pay for the account. Spending limit capped at EUR 2,500.

The best anti-fraud protection in the panel, in the least legible wrapper. Since 1 January 2026 the insurer is no longer AIG but Zurich Insurance Europe: the terms changed at the same time.

  5. 05

    American Express Business Gold

    6.9/10
Annual feeEUR 150/year (EUR 65 per additional card)
Non-euro2.5% on any transaction converted into euros
    NetworkAmerican Express - American Express

Pros : Real deferred debit, with no current account required at the issuer: American Express Europe is a Spanish payment institution with a Belgian branch in Watermael-Boitsfort. The cash-flow gap between purchase and debit is exactly what a Belgian bank card capped at EUR 2,500 a month does not give you.

Cons : 2.5% on every non-euro transaction, against 1.5% at Belgian banks. An Express Cash withdrawal costs 3.5% with a EUR 4.50 minimum. Late payment triggers 2.5% a month, minimum EUR 15, cumulative for three months. And acceptance is thinner than a Mastercard network among small Belgian merchants.

EUR 150 a year is ten times the KBC card. I only defend it if you invoice at 30 or 60 days and the cash-flow gap is worth more than that fee difference.

  6. 06

    bunq Free Business

    6.6/10
    Annual feeFree (EUR 0/month)
    Non-euroVaries by country and plan
    NetworkMastercard - bunq

Pros : The only business account in the panel at EUR 0 a month, reserved for sole proprietors, with three bank accounts included. Paid plans run to EUR 7.99, 13.99 and 23.99 a month depending on the tools you want.

Cons : The amount leaves your balance instantly: no deferred payment, no instalment repayment. bunq itself states that prices, included features and eligibility vary by country and legal form, so the grid on its global comparison page is no commitment for a Belgian company.

The zero-cost entry point for a sole trader. Check plan by plan before opening, because the published grid is not a Belgian one.

  7. 07

    Wise Business

    6.3/10
Annual feeEUR 50 one-off at opening
Non-euroReal rate, fees shown before the transaction
    NetworkVisa - Wise

Pros : Fifty euros to open, then nothing: no monthly fee, no account maintenance charge. Free virtual card, physical card at EUR 7, staff cards at EUR 5 with limits you set. Free withdrawals up to EUR 200 a month.

Cons : Wise Payments is an electronic money institution authorised by the UK FCA, not a bank: funds are safeguarded, without a deposit guarantee. Verifying a business file takes up to ten working days. And the Belgian page detailing these fees dates from February 2024.

The cheapest currency tool in the panel if you invoice in foreign currencies. It does not replace a credit card, and does not claim to.

  8. 08

    Revolut Business Basic

    6.0/10
    Annual feeEUR 10/month (EUR 120/year)
Non-euroInterbank rate up to EUR 1,500/month, then 0.6%
    NetworkVisa - Revolut

Pros : Physical and virtual cards for the whole team, spending controls by card, category and currency, ten free domestic transfers a month, and online and in-person payment acceptance from the first plan. Revolut Bank UAB is a Lithuanian bank licensed by the European Central Bank.

Cons : No free tier: EUR 10 a month from day one, eight times the KBC fee over a year. Above EUR 1,500 of monthly FX, 0.6%, and 1% outside market hours. ATM withdrawals cost 2% beyond the quota. A debit card, still.

The best-equipped business account in the panel, at the price of a subscription that never goes down. Moving to Grow, EUR 35 a month, only makes sense from about a hundred transfers a month.

The advertised price of a Belgian business card is almost never the price you pay

The EUR 15 KBC advertises only becomes available once you have opened a Business PRO account. The card fee is an entry ticket, not a bill.

The mechanism is the same at all four big Belgian banks, under different wrappers. BNP Paribas Fortis includes one card in the Essential Pro package and two in the Flex Pro package; outside a package, count EUR 6.75 per quarter per card. Belfius publishes no price for the card alone: the Business Pack Plus, at EUR 7.50 a month plus EUR 0.17 VAT, is the only figure on its product page.

What you compare is the full line: account plus card, over twelve months. A sole trader who looks at card fees alone will pick the wrong bank every time, because the gap between EUR 15 and EUR 51 of card fee is smaller than the gap between two Belgian business accounts.

There is a cost nobody puts a number on: switching bank for the card means switching business account, so direct debits, payment terminal and sometimes invoicing software. Thirty euros of annual saving does not pay for that day.

Do you really need a card in the company name?

No. No Belgian rule requires a card in the company name to pay for business purchases. What changes is the burden of proof.

A business card produces a single monthly expense statement where every line is already professional. A private card produces a mixed statement that somebody has to sort line by line, every month, for as long as the records must be kept. At KBC as at BNP Paribas Fortis, several cards can sit on the same account, one per employee, each with its own statement.

For a company the question is different: the legal entity's assets are separate from the director's, and mixing payment methods complicates accountability well beyond accounting convenience.

My call: below roughly thirty business purchases a year, a private card and an expense claim are enough. Above that, the business card pays for itself in sorting time, not in perks.

American Express and ING: what this ranking says, and what it does not

American Express Business Gold enters this ranking at EUR 150 a year, with a caveat I will own: the fee schedule the Belgian branch publishes today still carries the wording indicative, June 2018.

That document remains the only official published tariff. It gives EUR 150 for the main card, EUR 65 per additional card, 3.5% with a EUR 4.50 minimum on an Express Cash withdrawal, and 2.5% on any transaction converted into euros. That last figure is the least known fact on the Belgian market: settling USD 5,000 of subcontracting with an Amex Business card costs roughly EUR 125 in FX fees, against EUR 75 with a Belgian Mastercard at 1.5%.

ING is absent. On 21 August 2026 I could not find the fee for its Mastercard Business on any public ing.be page readable without running scripts. The figure of EUR 22 a year circulates on several comparison sites; I did not find it on an ING source, and I do not rank a price I could not read myself.

That absence is not a judgement on the card, it is a rule of method. If ING publishes its business schedule, the card joins at the next check.

What proof does your accountant want for a card payment?

A card statement is not a supporting document. It proves an amount left the account, neither what was bought nor for what use.

So keep the invoice or receipt against every line, with VAT broken out where it is recoverable. The monthly expense statements from KBC and BNP Paribas Fortis are a table of contents, not evidence. Revolut Business and bunq go further by requiring a photo of the receipt before the expense is validated, which none of the four big Belgian banks does today.

Foreign-currency purchases add friction. The statement line is in euros, the invoice in dollars, and the difference is the FX fee plus the rate applied on the processing day. Use the rate from the statement. Do not recompute at the rate on the order date.

Then there is the dispute. If you challenge a transaction, the file is built from the same pieces: invoice, correspondence with the merchant, date of the challenge. Belgian legal deadlines run from the date of the transaction, not from the day you noticed it.

Frequently asked questions

Which business credit card is cheapest in Belgium?

The KBC Mastercard Business Essential, at EUR 15 a year, checked on 21 August 2026. It requires opening a KBC Business PRO account first, whose cost adds to the fee: compare the account plus card total, never the card fee alone.

Is a business card compulsory for a Belgian sole trader?

No. No rule requires a card in the company name. It exists to separate spending and to produce a monthly statement that is already sorted; a private card plus expense claims remains possible, at the cost of sorting every statement by hand.

Can you get a business card without an account at the issuer?

At the four big Belgian banks, no: the card is attached to a business account held with them. American Express is the exception, since its Business card is issued by a payment institution independent of your bank.

What does a dollar payment cost on a Belgian business card?

1.5% at Belgian banks, or EUR 15 for every EUR 1,000. American Express applies 2.5%, or EUR 25 for the same amount. On a USD 5,000 subcontracting invoice, the gap approaches EUR 50.

Are Revolut Business and Wise Business credit cards?

No. They are business accounts with a debit card: the amount leaves the balance immediately, with no deferred payment and no instalment repayment. Revolut Bank UAB is a bank licensed in Lithuania; Wise Payments is an electronic money institution, without a bank deposit guarantee.

What should you do if the business card is lost or stolen?

Call Card Stop on 078 170 170, available 24/7, which blocks the card instantly, then notify the issuer and file a police report. At Belfius the EUR 150 excess for misuse is waived provided you report immediately and file a complaint within 24 hours.
